Raymond Richard Bielen was born August 22, 1929 to Joseph and Frieda (Wagner) Bielen in Springfield, MN. He lived his entire life in Springfield attending St. Raphael's Catholic School and graduating from Springfield High School. He served in the US Army from February of 1951 to February of 1953. On September 20, 1952, Ray was united in marriage to Marrion Webskowski in Port Townsend, Washington. Ray worked for Schmidt and Lehrer Company and in 1968 he started working at State Bank of Springfield. During his banking years he began selling real estate and enjoyed helping people find that perfect home. Ray was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Lions Club, Brown County Bankers Association. He participated in the Springfield Legion Drill Team and served on the firing squad for many years. Ray loved spending time with his family; he and his brothers loved a good argument. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren's school plays and concerts. Bowling and golfing were favorite activities. Ray had a fun loving personality that was with him until the end. Ray died Sunday, February 26, 2012 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield, MN at the age of 82. Ray is survived by his wife - Marrion; children - Linda and husband Jay Imker of Lamberton, Brian and wife Gail Bielen of Redwood Falls; grandchildren - Kristopher and wife Megan Imker, Kelsi Bielen of Sioux Falls, SD, Kirsten Bielen of Redwood Falls; great grandchildren - Makayla Imker, Halle Imker and Austin Imker; twin brother - Ralph and wife Avona Bielen of Springfield. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers - Arthur, Ervin, Walter and Donald; sister - Florence Zitzmann; and grandson - Benjamin Imker.
