Pete Christensen

Peter Christensen Jr., age 98, of Saint James, MN, died on April 19, 2021, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in Saint James. Funeral services will be held at the Hosanna Free Lutheran Church- St. James, on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior. Covid protocols will be followed. The clergy will be Rev. Joe Faldet. Interment will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery in St. James. Peter "Pete" Christensen, Jr., was born to Ruth Ann (Sommers) and Peter Soren Christensen on February 1, 1923. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Klopp on November 12, 1943 at the United Methodist Church in St James, where they raised their children and farmed. Pete worked as a farmer until 1975 until he and Betty moved into town. Pete was a kind soul and a valued member of the community, volunteering on the United Methodist Church Board and the County School District 8 school board. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling, playing golf, dancing, fishing and playing cards. Pete is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Evelyn Dexheimer, Norman Christensen, Richard Christensen, Joyce Sternberg and Edith Sowers; wife Betty Christensen, and granddaughter Keisha Christensen. He leaves behind memories to be cherished by his children Kathleen (Mark) Czarnecki of The Dalles, OR, Kenneth (Judith) Christensen of St. James, MN, Kurtis Christensen of St. James, MN, Keith (Shawna) Christensen of Maple Grove, MN. He is also survived by his sister Jean Knutson of Kimberling, MO; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
