Pauline Bartel

Pauline Janzen was born October 4, 1926 in Mt. Lake, MN, the daughter of Theodore and Marie (Peters) Janzen. She grew up and attended school in Mt. Lake. On August 29, 1947, she was united in marriage to Virgil Bartel. The couple raised their family and lived in the Mt. Lake area their entire life. Pauline served the community with her singing, school bus driving, Sunday school teacher and played piano at kids programs. She worked as an aide at the hospital and Eventide for several years. Pauline enjoyed sewing and cooking. Food was never in short supply at her home. She ran a tight ship at home, everything has a place and everything was in its place. Pauline wasn't one for traveling, she'd rather stay home and cook, sew and spend time with her family. She treasured the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a one of a kind wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be sorely missed. She is survived by her husband Virgil Bartel of Mt. Lake, children Marjean (Carl) Bjorklund of Mt. Lake, Neil (Tammy) Bartel of Mt. Lake, grandchildren Heather (Jeffrey) Fredericksen of Mt. Lake, David (Bridget) Menke of Jacksonville, FL, Lucas (Candice) Bartel of Butterfield, Lindsay (Dusty) Wassenaar of Lakefield, Lance (Katie) Bartel of Mt. Lake, great-grandchildren Ryan, Zachariah, Noah, Brittney, Dillyn, Ethan, Cambrie, Penny, Tenley and Maggie, siblings Roger (Joyce) Janzen of Mt. Lake, Doris Fast of Reedley, CA, Carol (Ron) Fast of Mt. Lake and in-laws Marvin Bartel of Bend, OR and Marcella (Herb) Fast of Mankato.
