Paul Hintgen

Visitation will continue one hour before services at the church on Friday. Paul Hintgen died on Monday, December 6, 2010, at the St. James Medical Center in St. James. Paul Francis Hintgen was born in St. James on January 8th, 1945 to Lyle and Mary (Carlson) Hintgen. After graduating from St. James High School in 1963 he moved to Gaylord where he met his wife, LaVonne, and they were married on July 8th, 1967. Paul worked for Noel Dodge and S-T Industries in St. James and then finished his career working for KLA Instruments for over 20 years, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed volunteering as an EMT for the St. James Ambulance and with ECIN, as a weather spotter for many years. After retirement, he became involved as an advocate for the American Disabilities Act, raising awareness for the rights of those affected with a disability. Paul's true passion was spending time with his family, especially rocking his grandchildren to sleep. Paul is survived by his wife LaVonne Hintgen of St. James. children; Brian (Jennifer) Hintgen of Maquoketa, IA, Mark Hintgen of St. James, Jody (Brad) Missling of Fairmont, Amy (Doug) Kilian of New Prague, Andy (Lisa) Hintgen of Charles City, IA, David (Julie) Hintgen of Sartell, 11 grandchildren, his mother Mary Hintgen of St. James, brother; John Hintgen of Chaska and sister; Margaret (Vern) Syverson of Eagan. He is preceded in death by his father; Lyle, and grandparents; George Josephine Hintgen and John Hazel Carlson.
