Nevaeh Rose Richert

March 8, 2025 — March 8, 2025

On September 8th, 2024, we found out we were expecting again and soon, a doctor’s appointment confirmed that we were indeed pregnant and due in May 2025. We were so excited and couldn’t wait to tell all of our friends and family our great news! But, as the weeks passed by, something began to feel off about the pregnancy.

On December 23rd, 2024 we went in for a routine anatomy scan, hoping to find out the gender of our baby for a reveal at Christmas. That day, we learned we were having our third baby girl and that she also had multiple genetic abnormalities. As shock gave way to anxiousness, we waited for specialists and test results to give a diagnosis. Soon, after multiple specialist appointments and genetic tests, it was confirmed that she had Trisomy 13 and the chances of a live birth or her living beyond the first year, were very small. Devastation and grief became familiar feelings as our plans for a third child chasing after her older sisters were ruined.

Knowing that the outcome would not change, we chose to continue with the pregnancy and soon, her kicks began to feel stronger and movements more pronounced. Each week and milestone was treasured, as we knew that our time with her would be short. She loved to start dancing as soon as mom laid down to sleep and kicked every ultrasound probe she could.

On March 8th, at 2:06am, Nevaeh Rose was born to proud parents Maddie and Noah Richert. Her cries were so sweet and she snuggled right into mom’s chest. She weighed 2 pounds, 6.4 ounces. We held her for an hour and a half before she went home to Heaven, where she is now held by Jesus and our many loved ones. Her name is intentionally spelled “heaven” backwards, because we knew she would get to go there before we did.

Nevaeh is survived by her by parents Maddie and Noah Richert; siblings Paisley and Elora Richert; grandparents Heidi and Charlie McCone, Chris and Sally Richert and numerous aunts and uncles. She was welcomed into heaven by all of her great grandparents and cousin Erich.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
