Nancy Lou Stevensen

April 18, 1941 — January 31, 2020

Nancy was born on April 18, 1941 to Charles and Alice (Frye) Rice in Madelia, MN. She attended Madelia Schools. On June 29, 1958 she married her High School Sweetheart, Duane Stevensen, together they have 2 sons and 2 daughters. The couple raised their family on the same farm where Nancy grew up and continued to live there until her passing. They farmed side by side and also raised chickens, pigs and cattle. Nancy also worked off the farm at Hayden's Furniture, Duebers and Golden Pantry. In 1980, she started work at REM and later at COR of Madelia until she retired. Nancy was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Madelia, where she belonged to the Silver Bands Group and served as an Elder. Nancy and Duane loved to go dancing, camping, fishing and spending time with their family and friends. She was always there to support her children and grandchildren and traveled many miles to watch those wrestling meets. Nancy Lou (Rice) Stevensen age 78, of Madelia, Minnesota passed away unexpectedly on January 31, 2020 due to a complication after surgery at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Nancy is survived by her husband of 61 years, Duane Stevensen of Madelia; daughters, Kristi and husband Vince Forstner, Kimberly Cooling and significant other Brandon Fussy, all of Madelia; son, Chuck and wife Alyssa Stevensen of St. James, MN; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. In heaven, she will join her parents, Charles and Alice Rice; sister, Charlotte Huppert; son, Bradley Stevensen and grandsons, Alex Cooling and Bryon Forstner.
