Minnie Miller, age 91, of St. James died on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia. Minnie Bertha Alvina Kueker was born on July 6, 1918 in Cottonwood County to William and Bertha (Blankenburg) Kueker. Minnie was baptized on July 28, 1918 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Butterfield and also confirmed there on January 31, 1932. She attended several country schools. On July 12, 1936 Minnie was united in marriage to Edwin Miller. After marrying, the couple farmed in Antrim Township until they moved to St. James on March 1, 1956. Edwin died November 17, 1991. Minnie was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. Minnie enjoyed rug making, crocheting, knitting, baking and quilting. Minnie started failing in 2002 and resided at several Retirement homes in the area. Minnie died on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Luther Memorial Home in Madelia. She was 91 years old. Minnie is the last of 11 children born to William and Bertha Kueker. Surviving Minnie are 4 children. A son, Melvin Miller of Madelia and a special friend Lola Johnson of St. James; 3 daughters and their husbands, Laura and Lyle Greiner of Truman, Darlene and Richard Davis of St. James, Avis and Raymond Roiger of New Hope; 14 grandchildren. 25 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren and 1 sister-in-law, Rosella Kueker of Truman and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edwin, an infant daughter, Alice, a daughter-in-law Elizabeth (Betty) Miller and seven brothers and 3 sisters: Henry, Amanda, William, Jr., George, Elsie, Albert, Hulda, Arthur, Arnold, Carl.
