Michael Lee Sanns

Michael Lee Sanns, age 58, of Saint James, died on December 4, 2023, at his home.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sturm Funeral Home, St. James Chapel. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in St. James. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.

Mike was born March 23, 1965 in Saint James during the St. Patrick's Day Blizzard and was raised by his parents, Chuck and Betty (Olson) Sanns. Mike was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist church in Saint James. He graduated from Saint James High School in 1984, where he played football for the Saints.

A highlight of Mike's summers was spending time fishing on Lake Osakis with his dad and uncles. He was especially proud of his bright blue Dodge Super Bee.

Mike worked for Tony Downs Foods for over 35 years. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, Texas, Washington, Virginia, and Florida to watch NASCAR. He will be remembered for his dry sense of humor and love of family.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Betty; grandparents, Ray and Nora Sanns and Ralph and Bernice Olson; and his sister, Michelle Sanns.

Left to cherish his memory are his nephew, Josh Sanns; aunt, Sharon Rodriguez; uncle, Tom Olson; and cousins and many friends.
