Marilyn Lucille Jaster was born July 22, 1931, in Ormsby, MN, the daughter of Herbert Margaret (Wacker) Jaster. Marilyn grew up on the family farm near St. James where she attended school. She graduated from St. James High School. She worked as a bookkeeper at Citizen Bank for several years before moving to St. Paul where she worked various bookkeeping jobs. She moved to Fairmont where she met Lyle Baarts, the couple got married on April 14, 1963, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in St. James. They made their home in St. James where Marilyn worked at the Co-op as a bookkeeper until she retired in 1993. Marilyn was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. James where she served in several groups. She was also active at Senior Citizen Dining in St. James. She enjoyed her "girls coffee group", reading, and doing crossword puzzles and word circle games. Marilyn is survived by her nieces nephews, Daryl (Shirley) Hanneman of New Ulm, Bonnie (Chuck) Radel of Jeffers, David (Melanie) Hanneman of Sanborn, Lisa (Jim) Martius of Lino Lakes, Mark Jaster of Duluth, Kristie Jaster of Helena, MT, sister-in-law, Carol Jaster of Sault Sainte Marie, MI, and several cousins.
