Margie Ann Stolze was born July 23, 1933 in St. James, MN, the daughter of Elmer and Louise Stolze. Margie grew up on the family farm just outside of St. James. She attended rural school. On April 7, 1951, she was united in marriage to Dale W. Nelson at Camp Rucker, AL, where they lived while Dale was in the Army. They lived in the Twin Cities for several years before moving back to St. James. On September 19, 1969, they bought their first home and raised their seven children. Margie worked various jobs, she worked at Tony Downs, Red Owl, St. James Hospital and Gateway Window and Awning over the years. Margie mostly enjoyed staying home and raising her children. She enjoyed camping and looking for and listening to loons on their camping trips up north, quilting, playing cards and painting ceramics. She loved her family and cherished the times spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margie is survived by her children; Pamela Rose of Cambria, Deb Schiller of St. James, Caroline (Scott) Unke of Fairmont, David (Kim) Nelson of St. James, Lynn (Mike) Nickel of LeSueur, Michael Nelson and Tim Miller of Burnsville, Heather (Kyle) Nordhausen of St. James, 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters; Ethel Rettke, Arlene Monsen, brother Bud Stolze and a nephew Mark Rettke.
