Margaret Helen Lehnert, the daughter of August and Elizabeth (Kluge) Lehnert was born on December 19, 1914 in Delton Township, Cottonwood County, near Comfrey, MN. She received her education at Comfrey Public School and a country school near her home. Margaret was baptized and later confirmed in her Faith at St. John's Lutheran Church in Darfur, MN, and she was a member of Salem Lutheran Church (now New Hope Lutheran Church) in Comfrey for most of her life. On February 6, 1934 Margaret was united in marriage to Henry Evers Jr at St. John's Lutheran Church. They made their home and farmed together near Comfrey. After Henry died on April 27, 1975 Margaret remained on the farm until 2004, when she moved into Comfrey fulltime. She enjoyed raising chickens, gardening and flowers, needlework, she loved all her grandchildren and she and her family were thankful for the many years of care given her by her son Raymond. Margaret died at the age of 94 years at the Springfield Medical Center in Springfield, MN on Monday, April 27, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry Evers Jr; and a sister, Bertha Valentien. Margaret is survived by her four children, Marion Nelson and husband Doug of Afton, MN, Raymond Evers and wife Denice of Springfield, Norbert Evers and wife Carol of Mountain Lake, MN, and Lila Willis and husband Jim of Cedaredge, CO; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
