Margaret Ann Berberich was born on January 22, 1940, the daughter of Lester and Selma (Hageman) in Springfield, MN. She grew up on a farm in Stately Township. As a child she enjoyed spending overnights with friends on her dad's land by the falls, which is now Wellner-Hageman Dam. Margaret graduated from Comfrey High School in 1958. After graduation Margaret moved to New Ulm to work. On December 28, 1961, she married Skip Berberich at New Ulm Cathedral. Margaret and Skip lived on their farm in Mulligan Township for 51 years. In November of 2012, they moved to a home in Comfrey. Margaret worked at Tri-County Co-Op Oil Company in Darfur as a bookkeeper and then worked for 17 years at the Comfrey Public School. She especially enjoyed planning graduation ceremonies for the high school graduates. Margaret loved spending time with kids and grandkids, entertaining family and friends, gardening, reading, cooking and playing cards. She also enjoyed watching Vikings games, and water aerobics and lunch in Darfur with her friends. She loved living on the farm but didn't like feeding the chickens and collecting eggs.
