Madeline Marie (Gabriel) Standerwick was born at home to John and Madeline (Reinauer) Gabriel on September 14, 1932, in Allendale, New Jersey. She attended high school in Ramsey NJ, where she met her husband Robert and graduated in 1948. On December 17, 1949, she married Robert (Bob) Standerwick.
Shortly after they wed, she began working for an engineering company where she worked for 10 years. She left there and went to ITT for 14 years working in exporting and then went into the Ice Rink branch. In 1995 she retired from ITT’s Customer Service Branch.
She and Robert moved to Mountain Lake in 1997 to be near their son and grandchildren.
Madeline gave her life to Christ in September of 1965 at a Billy Graham Crusade. She was later baptized on December 24, 1978.
Madeline loved her family, she took great pride in her grandchildren and loved watching them grow up through the years. She was a great cook; her holiday meals will never be forgotten. She was great at making people’s day with a card, she always made sure to send cards to friends and family for holidays, birthdays, anniversaries or just to say hi. Her kindness was felt by everyone that met her.
