Lorraine Joblinske

January 11, 1935 — December 9, 2014

Lorraine Frances Joblinske, age 79, of Madelia, Minnesota went to her home in heaven on December 9, 2014, at Luther Memorial Home, in Madelia. Lorraine was born on January 11, 1935 in Riverdale Township, the daughter of Delbert and Frances (Flatau) Hoffman. She was raised on the farm near LaSalle and was a graduate of St. James High School in 1953. Lorraine was united in marriage to Arnold Joblinske at St. James Catholic Church on April 1, 1959. The couple moved to Madelia in 1964, where Lorraine worked at Tony Downs for many years. After her retirement, she spent what time and resources she had helping her friends, family and neighbors. Lorraine was a thoughtful, generous and giving person. She loved her family, and always remembered her many nieces and nephews with special attention and care. She was a person who could recognize the needs of those around her and offered whatever she could to help. Lorraine would help working mothers by offering to watch the children in the area and cared for them with a joyful, loving heart. She would also provide assistance to adults who were in need, many times offering friendly visits, fresh baked banana bread, or simply bringing a cup of coffee to someone who needed a friend. In 1990, she was recognized by KEYC, and was chosen to receive the Good People Award after learning of her generosity in caring for children and friends in the area. In her free time, Lorraine enjoyed baking, hosting dinners for friends, visiting with her nieces and nephews, and caring for her cat Pammy-girl. She will be remembered for her friendly smile, giving spirit and love for others. Survivors include, brother, Clifford (Beverly) Hoffman; sister-in-law, Pat Hoffman of Mankato, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Joblinske; parents, Delbert and Frances Hoffman; brothers, Albert and Lyle Hoffman, and sister, Leona Hoffman.
