There will be a parish prayer service at 7pm Sunday at the funeral home. Lorraine Anna Helget was born on April 12, 1920 in Sleepy Eye, MN to Michael Rose (Haala) Helget. She grew up and attended school in Sleepy Eye. Lorraine married Archibald Haecherl on April 22, 1940 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. Lorraine and Archie owned and operated the Lincoln Tavern in Sleepy Eye for many years. Lorraine also worked at the Wagon Wheel and the Glockenspiel in New Ulm. She loved baking smear kuchen and pie and canning pickles and jam. Lorraine enjoyed spending time with family, doing things for others and working with flowers. Lorraine A. Haecherl, 88, of Sleepy Eye, MN, died on Monday, April 6, 2009 at Sleepy Eye Care Center. She is survived by daughters, LaVonne (Robert) Eckstein of St. James, Carol (Maurice) Gent of Bowlus, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, sisters, Marion (Val) Rathman of Comfrey, Ivonne (Edwin) Windschitl of Comfrey and brother, LaMonte (Elaine) Helget of Sleepy Eye. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Archie, grandson, Archie Roderick, grandson-in-law, Josh Lauzer and sister, Verena Krebs.
