Lori Nusbaum, age 48, of St. James died on Monday, December 16, 2019 at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Society in St. James. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am, Thursday, December 19, 2019 at St. James Catholic Church in St. James with Father Timothy Hall as Celebrant. Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-7pm and at the church one hour before services on Thursday. Family prefers memorials in lieu of flowers. Lori Christine Rich was born in St. Louis Park on April 15, 1971, the daughter of Charles and Elaine (Henkels) Rich. Lori grew up in the Plymouth area and graduated from the Hopkins High School. She then attended Lothian College of Design where she became an interior designer. She then worked as a designer at several places in the Twin Cities. On May 18, 2002, she married James Nusbaum in Hopkins. The couple moved to St. James in 2003 where Lori went to work at Pioneer Bank. In 2007, she became the director of the St. James Chamber of Commerce. She was instrumental in the creation of the St. James Area Foundation for the betterment of the entire community of St. James. In 2012, Lori found her dream job she became an executive administrative assistant at Mayo Clinic Health System in St. James. Lori was active with her volunteerism, in addition to the St. James Area Foundation she was also active with the Relay for Life and was a strong believer in giving back to her community. She enjoyed making jewelry, camping, time spent at the lake, shopping, movies and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her husband James Nusbaum of St. James, children; Alexandra Diemer of Seattle, WA, Samantha Rich-Thompson of Mankato, Jadon Nusbaum of St. James, brother Ted (Theresa) Rich of Edina, niece Elaine Marie Rich of Edina, brothers-in-law; Larry (Kathy) Nusbaum of Lubbock, TX, Steve (Denise) Nusbaum of St. Cloud, nieces and nephews; Justine, Carmen, Kendra, Mitchell and mother-in-law Marge Nusbaum of Mankato. She is preceded in death by parents, step-father Bruce Snyder, grandmothers; Olga and Margaret.
