Loretta Anderson

Loretta Gertrude Anderson was born January 15, 1920, in Lucan, MN, the daughter of Peter and Mary Ellen (Masterson) Liesenfeld. She graduated from Lamberton High School, where she was active with Glee Club and Rooter Club, and then graduated from the Minnesota State Teacher's School. Loretta taught at a country school in the Lamberton area for three years before going to work at Valley News in Mankato as a bookkeeper. She was united in marriage to Norman C. Anderson on May 29, 1948, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lamberton. Loretta was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, a member of the Christian Mothers, the Ministry of Prayer, the American Legion Auxiliary, Country Brushes Art Club, SMAHC, and MCCL. She was a past member of the Mankato Athletic Association, 4-H, and the Little Flower Society, and served as a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Loretta enjoyed painting and spending time with family and friends. Loretta Gertrude Anderson died Tuesday, October 24, 2006, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton at the age of 86 years. Survivors include children- James Anderson of Lakeville, MN, Peter and Julie Anderson of Franklin, Robert Anderson of Ventura, CA, Michael Anderson of Madelia, Mary and James Okins of Windom, Thomas Anderson of Lamberton, Richard and Kathy Anderson of Morristown, MN, and Kathleen and Kenneth Sell of Sartell, MN; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and brother- Vincent and Agnes Liesenfeld of St. Paul. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband- Norman in 1964; granddaughter- Kristine Okins in 2005; and sister- Mary Liesenfeld.
