Lloyd Waterman

August 24, 1916 — September 16, 2005

Lloyd George Waterman was born on August 24, 1916 in Brown County, MN the son of William J. Clara E. (Trapp) Waterman. He was baptized on September 24, 1916 and confirmed on April 28, 1929 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sanborn. Lloyd grew up near Sanborn and graduated from Sanborn High School. He married LaVon E. Hensch on June 27, 1940 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sanborn. The couple lived in Sanborn for 26 years, Lamberton for 31 years and in Austin since December of 1997. Lloyd farmed for ten years and then worked as a Livestock Buyer until 1979. He was a member of Christ Our Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mankato. Lloyd was the caretaker at the Lamberton Cemetery for several years. Survivors include, his wife LaVon E. Waterman of Austin, children, William L (Mavis) of Corpus Christi, TX, Steven G. Waterman of Corpus Christi, TX, John B. (Linda) Waterman of Rochester, MN, Jean (Leon) Hellickson of Albert Lea, MN, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, sister, Carol Marcotte of San Diego, CA, sisters-in-law, Doris Waterman of Minnetonka, MN and Marion Waterman of Minnetonka, MN and brother-in-law, Jack Dahmer of Austin, TX. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law, Penny Waterman, brothers, Clifford and Gilbert, and sisters, Margaret Weber, Elaine Dahmer and Claire Wisby.
