Lillian Riebel

Lillian Emma Riebel was born on November 5, 1927 in Sleepy Eye, MN, the daughter of Lawrence and Anna (Saffert) Weiss. Lillian attended country school until 8th grade. Lillian married Frank Wensauer on May 8, 1946. She worked at Pietrus, Sleepy Eye Medical Center and Krienke Turkey farm where she retired. Lillian married Walter Riebel on August 29, 1980. Lillian was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the CCW. She enjoyed embroidery, gardening, fishing, playing cards, listening to old time music and dancing. She also enjoyed canning, creating special recipes like sauerkraut and dumplings and was always a happy person! She always loved spending time with her brothers and sisters. Lillian is survived by her children, Diana (Robert "Chisey") Sellner of Sleepy Eye, Marjorie (Daryle) Fischer of New Ulm, Charlene (David) Forsyth of St. James, Michael Wensauer of Sleepy Eye, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, sisters, Mary Doyle of Sleepy Eye, Margaret McSherry of Florida, Florence Current of Florida, sister-in-law, Karen Weiss of Sleepy Eye and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Frank Wensauer and Walter Riebel, brothers, Linus, Victor and Sylvester Weiss and sister, Viola Krueger.
