Lila Laura Johnson was born on the family farm in Albin Township, Brown County, Minnesota on May 24, 1928, the daughter of Rangvold Selma (Olson) Johnson. She was confirmed at Albion Lutheran Church, attended Country School Dist. 47, and graduated from St. James High School in 1946. On October 14, 1949, Lila was united in marriage to Clement Johnson at Albion Lutheran Church. The couple made their home on the family farm until 1958 when they moved to Madelia. Lila was very active in her church, Trinity Lutheran Church, she taught Sunday School, active with ladies aide, for many years she did sewing with the ladies group and was involved with several ladies that did a Norwegian Ladies Aide skit. Lila loved to sew, was well known as the "Lefse Lady", and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Karen (Jeff) Hopman of St. James, Kelvin Johnson of Springfield, TN; grandchildren, Michael Hopman, Karissa Hopman and fianc Eric Pietsch, Laura Hopman (Lance Frederickson), Brandon Johnson, Amber (Joseph) Simpson, Aimee Johnson and Benjamin Johnson; 8 great-grandchildren; a sister, Pearl Johnson of Madelia, and a sister-in-law, Lucille Johnson. She is preceded in death by her husband; great-granddaughter, Kayla Marie; brothers, Sylvan, Norvald and twin brother Lawrence.
