Larry Duane Elg

Larry Elg, age 80 of Lake Crystal, Minnesota, died at his home with his loving family present on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

Memorial service will be held at New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at New Hope Faith Lutheran Cemetery in Comfrey. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Comfrey, Minnesota. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.

Larry was born February 3, 1944, to Burton and Emeline (Wollin) Elg in Comfrey, Minnesota. He graduated from Comfrey High School in 1962. On September 21, 1974, he was united in marriage to Jeanne Treml at Faith Lutheran Church in Comfrey.

Larry worked for Kato Engineering as a Plant Machinist Supervisor from 1965 until 2001 and retired in 2006 from GM Contracting in Lake Crystal. Larry enjoyed woodworking, remodeling, gas engines, thrashing bees and his extensive gun collection. He also loved to do yard work, landscaping, traveling, camping, and boating with his family. Most of all, he enjoyed his grandchildren, Wyatt and Scarlett!

Larry is survived by his wife, Jeanne; daughters, Kimberly (Jeffrey) Evers of Hudson, Wisconsin and Kaysie Elg of Quincey, Massachusetts; and grandchildren, Wyatt and Scarlett Evers.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gerald and James Elg; parents-in-law, Benjamin and Mariann Treml; and brothers-in-law, Neil, Alan, and Bruce Treml.
