Kaylie Hogue, age 24, of Sleepy Eye, died of an Epileptic Seizure on Wednesday, June 5, 2013. Kaylie was born on July 16, 1988 in New Ulm, MN. She graduated from Sleepy Eye Public High School in 2006 and from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a Bachelors in Education. She was currently teaching at Martin County West High School. Kaylie was a friend to everyone. She was kind, honest, and had the ability to light up a room with her big blue eyes and huge white smile; she melted your heart the minute you met her. She loved teaching at Martin County West High School; it changed her life forever, and she adored the entire staff. They accepted her with open arms and made her feel appreciated and loved. She had a deep passion for teaching and wanted to help each and every student reach their highest potential. She worked hard to be the best teacher she could be. Her pride and joy was her dog, Deuce. She felt like a proud "Momma" when he starred in the Wizard of Oz at Martin County West, as Toto! She started dating her true love, Kurt Muhl, in July of 2011. The past two years were the happiest of Kaylie's life. She experienced the feeling of deep and everlasting love. They were engaged to be married on January 25, 2014, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. As a child Kaylie was always singing and acting. She loved making up plays and pretending she was "Annie" or "Dorothy" from the Wizard of Oz. Everyone around her became part of her play whether they wanted to or not! She enjoyed music, theatre, concerts, and plays. Billy Elliot, Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Annie, Legally Blonde and Rent were on the top of the list. She enjoyed listening to music. Kelly Clarkson, Clay Aiken, American Idol, In Sync and Taylor Swift were a few of her favorites growing up. She loved her family deeply and was loved by all; she always put her family first. She has a huge family and everyone meant the world to her. She was taken from us way too soon and will be deeply missed by her family, all of her friends, co-workers, students, and all whom she touched in her short life. Spread your wings and fly, Kaylie. Heaven truly got a beautiful Angel.
