Judith Ann Steffen was born November 27, 1942, in Waverly, MN, the daughter of Meryl and Hazel (Fox) Purvis. She graduated from Lamberton High School in 1960, then began work at the Redwood County Farmer's Mutual Agency. Judith later worked at the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Lamberton, the First Security Bank in Sanborn, and then Toro in Windom. She was united in marriage to Donald Steffen on December 11, 1987, in Sanborn. Judith spent 12 years dairy farming with Don and she always claimed she was happy being a farm wife. She later worked at the Springfield Public Library. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn and served as an organist and a choir member. Judith enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, cooking and baking. Judith Ann Steffen died Saturday, August 14, 2010, at the Springfield Medical Center Hospital at the age of 67 years. She is survived by husband Don of Sanborn; children- Kevin (Trudi) Juhnke of Lamberton, Craig (LeeAnn) Juhnke of Hutchinson, Kyle (Kelly) Juhnke of Lamberton, and Karen (Dave) Irlbeck of Lamberton; grandchildren- Tucker, Carter, Kari, Autumn, Andrew, Ashton, and Ava Juhnke, and Austin and Mason Irlbeck; brothers- James (Kathy) Purvis of Chandler, AZ, and Ron (Chris) Purvis of Golden Valley; 6 step-children; 11 step-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; 1 niece; and 1 nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents.
