Joseph Oliver

Joseph Michael was born on July 22, 1968 in St James to Delbert and Viola (Dougherty) Oliver. As a life long member of First Presbyterian Church, Joe was baptized on September 29, 1968 and confirmed on September 15, 1984 there. After graduating from St James High School in 1986 Joe began working for Tony Downs then Swift. His trucking career started at Hunstad and then Runge. He next worked with his father at Oliver Sons Trucking until his father's retirement. His current employer was Dave Reed. Joe's love and life was trucking. He rode with his father as a boy and continued the tradition with his own family. He also loved horses and especially enjoyed riding them with his family. Joe is survived by his parents: Delbert and Viola Oliver, St James; children: Amanda Oliver Kevin Ragewich, Gregory, SD, Tyler Oliver, St James, BreAnna Oliver Derrick Krosch, St James, and Alexandra Alex Oliver, Garden City; Fiance: Joni Heald, St James; siblings: Nan Coughlin Don Bero, Island Lake, IL, Sabrina Brina Darwin Carlson, Madelia, and Bruce Oliver Tim Briley, St James; Joni's children: Meggie McMullen, St James, Matthew Heald, Mankato, Amanda Heald; St James, Joni's granddaughter: Amelia Heald; and neices and a nephew. He is also survived by the mothers of his children: Cindy Olson (Bastian), St James and Aimee Slama (West), Garden City. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Delbert Garnet Oliver, and Jack Rosy Dougherty; and half-sister Lynn Carol Oliver.
