Earl James Palmquist (Jim) was born in St. James, MN on January 16, 1965 to Swen and Edna (Baker) Palmquist. Jim attended school in St. James where he graduated in 1984. After graduating high school he began to work at Tony Downs in St. James. In 1987 he met the love of his life, Rebecca (Becky) Lynn Ring. One year later on October 24, 1988 they welcomed their son, Dustin James Palmquist. Just one week after the birth of their son, he left for basic training in Fort Sill, Oklahoma and for Team Spirit 1990, Jim went to Korea for a few memorable weeks. He completed his service in 1994. In the spring of 1996 Jim started working at Gopher/Hawkeye Concrete of Madelia. On April 17, 1999, at the American Lutheran Church in Windom, MN, Jim and Becky were finally married in the presence of their loving family and friends. The two enjoyed many years of spending time with their friends, family and most importantly their son. In more recent years Jim enjoyed most of his leisure time riding motorcycle with his wife and their friends and family, traveling as often as he could. He loved to play yard games, fishing, have grill outs with his family, often times ending the night with a few fireworks. He spent much of his free time with his two grandsons, Paxton and Braydon. He enjoyed shooting pool at The Bandbox and participating in pool and dart tournaments. Jim always was willing to provide a helping hand to family and friends.
