Jeannine Gross

Jeannine Deloris Gross was born September 19, 1929 in Underwood Township, Redwood County to Leonard and Gladys (Milbradt) Marotzke. She was baptized on October 13, 1929, and confirmed April 18, 1943, both at St. John's Lutheran Church in Milroy. She graduated from Milroy High School in 1947 and was united in marriage to Willard Gross on September 19, 1948 in Milroy. Jeannine worked at Supervalu, Our Own Hardware, the Lamberton Consignment store, and did dog-sitting for many years. Her love of dogs gave her the name The Dog Whisperer to many families in Lamberton. She moved to Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato on June 1, 2011. Jeannine was a former member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church where she was a member of the senior choir for over 30 years, taught bible school, and served on various church committees. She was a current member of St. John Lutheran Church in Springfield and enjoyed embroidery and reading. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by children- Bonita Scott of Canyon Lake, TX, Steven Gross of Iowa, and Susan and husband David Truebenbach of Mankato; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother Kenneth and wife Helen Marotzke of Marshall; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Willard in 2009; and son-in-law Dick Scott.
