Jack Lynn Helmer

Jack Lynn Helmer was born February 11, 1934, in Plymouth, MI to Glen and Ethel Mae (Ford) Helmer. Jack served with the U.S. Navy before starting his career with General Motors. He worked repairing buses for 25 years before retiring in 1989. Jack was united in marriage to Katherine Wakefield on January 30, 1959 in Wayne, MI. The couple will forever be known for their "unconditional love" and would go help whoever might be in need of assistance. They moved to Lamberton in 2011. Jack was a member of Jeffers Baptist Church and enjoyed reading his Bible, fishing and bowling. Jack Helmer died Friday, October 16, 2015, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton at the age of 81 years. He is survived by wife Katherine; children- Jackie Helmer of Arlington, TX, Jeannie (Eric) Nelson of Tracy, MN, Matthew (Sue) Helmer of Farwell, MI, Karen Kubala of Washington, D.C., and Tim (Eileen) Helmer of Revere, MN; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and 6 brothers and sisters.
