Jack Heinitz

August 6, 1923 — October 29, 2006

Jack David Heinitz the son of Jacob Mary (Meier) Heinitz was born on August 6, 1923 in Mt. Lake, MN. He was baptized on 8/2/1923 and confirmed on 4/10/1938 at the Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Mt. Lake. He attended country school through the 8th grade and then needed to help on the family farm. It was important to Jack to complete his high school education which he did years later. He was united in marriage on April 26, 1945 to Marie Stenke at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. Jack began working atMidland Co-op and became manager in 1953. He continued as manager for the next 33 years until retiring in 1986. Jack loved the land and the people who planted and harvested, every spring he and Marie would drive and check on the planting and every fall on the harvesting. He was a life long member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. He sang in the choir, was an elder, treasurer, Sunday School Superintendent and served on other committees. He loved to watch sports, especially his sons and grandchildren. Jack andMarie celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2005. He also enjoyed visits from his family and was proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Marie of Mt. Lake, children, June (Gene) College of Omaha, NE, Jim (Becky) Heinitz of Brandon, SD, Jack (Joli) of Blue Earth, MN, Jan (Dave) Aamoth of Crookston, MN, 11 grandchildren, Cindy Westlund, Scott College, Stacy Scholten, Adam Heinitz, Kysa Heinitz, Heather Heinitz, Christian Heinitz, Cassie Aamoth, Erin Heinitz, Brea Aamoth and Paige Aamoth, 8 great-grandchildren, Chloe Westlund, Nathan Westlund, Zachary Scholten, Thomas Scholten, Ella Heinitz, Samuel Scholten,MacKenzie Aamoth and Maya Heinitz, brothers, Orlando (Donna) Heinitz of Green Valley, AZ and Stanley Heinitz of Mankato, MN. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Irene Stenke.
