Ivan Hoffman

February 3, 1927 — June 28, 2010

Ivan Marvin Hoffman was born February 3, 1927, in Willow Lake Township, Redwood County, the son of Herman and Augusta (Wagner) Hoffman. Following his education, Ivan farmed with his brother Ron for 6 years before leaving for the Twin Cities and working for Schweitzer Construction. In 1962, he returned to farm with his brother while continuing to work construction jobs, retiring in 2001. Ivan was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Willow Lake Township where he was baptized and confirmed. He served on the church board for many years as Chairman and as a Deacon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing baseball in his younger days, and visiting with friends and family. He especially enjoyed visits with his nieces and nephews. Ivan Marvin Hoffman died Monday, June 28, 2010, at his home in rural Sanborn. He is survived by sisters- Lois Emery of Hayfield, Dorean Hoffman of Springfield, Dolores Fennern of Springfield, and Ardella (Roger) Ankrum of Luck, WI; brother Ronald Hoffman of Walnut Grove; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters- Mildred Blume and Lorraine Fennern; and brother Warren.
