He sought refuge in the United States in the early 1980's and eventually met Vongphachan Kongpouthakhoun in Fresno, CA in 1987. Soon after meeting Vong, they moved to Dumas Texas and were married on February 20, 1988. Vong and Inpanh welcomed their first child, a son named Alan, on August 28, 1988. Due to the economy and employment opportunities, the Phommahaxay family moved to New Britain, CT in 1990, where they then welcomed a daughter, Salena, on May 29, 1992. It was only 2 weeks after their daughter was born that they made their final move to Mountain Lake, MN to settle as their forever home. Inpanh was employed as an assembler at Toro in Windom from 1994-2014. In 2014, he became ill and diagnosed with End-stage Renal Failure and retired on disability. He was an avid fisherman, sports enthusiast, always watching ESPN or keeping updates on games (with football being his sport of choice), and a handy man, always finding something to work on. He enjoyed gardening, spending time with his friends, watching Youtube videos of Laos, fishing, or cooking. But most importantly, he was a proud grandfather, always keeping updates on his grandchildren and talking about them as much as he could. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, 3 brothers, and 1 sister. He is survived by his wife, Vongphachan (Kongpouthakhoun) Phommahaxay, his son Alan and wife Tiphanie from Pennsylvania, his daughter Salena and husband Jeremy from Minnesota.
