Herman Sieving, age 98, of St. James, died on Sunday, March 04, 2012, at Luther Memorial Home in Madelia, MN. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. James, MN with Rev. Martin Lopahs officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sturm Funeral Home in St. James, MN. Visitation will continue on one hour before services at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in St. James. Herman W. Sieving was born May 3, 1913 in Missouri to Emil and Anna (Hermann) Sieving. He spent most of his life in Chicago, Illinois and Michigan before moving to St. James in 1996. Herman was united in married to Lois Johnson on June 1, 1935. He worked as superintendent for a print shop. Herman enjoyed doing yard work, riding bike and socializing at the Sr. Dining Center. He was especially passionate about square dancing. Herman was the treasurer of the Swingin' Saints Square Dancing Club of St. James. He was also President of the Bustle Hustlers Club in Estherville. He is survived by his children, Evelyn (Terry) Hagen of rural Hanska, Priscilla Stratton of Yuma, AZ, and Roger Sieving of CA; 8 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.
