Helen Zollner

November 20, 1916 — June 24, 2007

Helen was born on November 20, 1916 in New Ulm, MN the daughter of Frank Katherine (Leikam) Dauer. She grew up and attended St. Mary's School in New Ulm. After her schooling Helen worked for a garment factory in New Ulm. She married Alfred Zollner on February 9, 1937 in Fairfax, MN. The couple lived in Fairfax and New Ulm before moving to Sleepy Eye in 1947. Helen worked for Delmonte, A.J. Pietrus and as a USDA Poultry Inspector for 20 years. Alfred preceded her in death in 1990. Helen was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Catholic Aid, Christian Mothers, CCW and the Divine Providence and American Legion Auxiliary's. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, embroidery, reading crossword puzzles and especially her children and grandchildren. Helen J. Zollner, 90, of Sleepy Eye died on Sunday, June 24, 2007 at Sleepy Eye Medical Center. Survivors include her children, Ronald (Jeanette) Zollner of Acton, MA, Marilyn (Edwin) Mielke of N. Mankato, Rita (Douglas) Bandemer of Morgan, JoAnn (Willis) Lochner of Sleepy Eye, Becky (Marty) Conzemius of Bloomington and Jean (John) Moody of Sanborn, 30 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, brother, Paul (Marie) Dauer of New Ulm, sister-in-law, Lucille Zollner of Fairfax and many nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Eileen (Elmer) Krenz, grandchildren, Timm Lochner Melody Krenz and great-grandson, Joey Ludewig.
