Harold Dean Herrig

April 18, 1935 — December 17, 2015

Harold Dean Herrig, St. James and formerly of Mountain Lake, died on December 17, 2015. He was born on April 18, 1935 to Carl and Bena (Kies)Herrig in Storm Lake, Iowa. He did construction and masonry work most of his life. In 1966, he started Herrig's Construction in Mountain Lake. Harold continued working in the construction business until 2000. He served several positions at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and enjoyed spending time with his famly. On August 10, 1952 Harold married Lucille Feeken. After her death on March 21, 1996, Harold married Janet Loose on February 14, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Janet; his five children: Rick (Janice) Herrig, Mt. Lake; Cindy (Walt) Buller, International Falls; Bradley (Lois) Herrig; Tim (Renee) Herrig and Alan (Barb) Herrig, all of Mt. Lake; 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; his sister Hazel Marietta, Storm Lake, IA; and brother Don Herrig, Albert City, IA. Also survived by Janet's four children: Lisa Tressler, New Ulm; Michelle Waite and fiance Dave Kozlowski, Greendale, WI; Matthew Loose, Mankato; and Erin Haberman and fiance Jason Hassebroek, Mt. Lake; 12 step-grandchildren and two step-great grandchildren; Father and mother-in-law Albert and Arlene Dressel, Mankato. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Lucille, brothers and sisters Lucille Lorenzen, Irene Moore, Marvel Anderson, Deloris Sennert, Fred Herrig, and Russell Herrig.
