Gregory Steffl was born on March 6, 1950 to Harold and Beatrice (Barnes) Steffl in Sleepy Eye, MN. He grew up in Sleepy Eye and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1968. Greg joined the US Army in 1969 and was stationed in Vietnam until 1970. He spent most of his life living on farms where he enjoyed gardening, cutting wood and making homemade wine and horseradish. He loved spending time on the river on his pontoon fishing with friends and family. Greg enjoyed quiet evenings with his dog, Pepper. He spent his last years with special friends, Stephen, Xander and Madisyn Kostoff and Deb Hemming, Lori Harms and very special friend, Doug "Lefty" Schwab who spent many hours with him in his last months. Greg was always very happy when his brother Tom could come spend time with him. He was a Jack of all trades but spent many years in the plumbing business. As Greg made his final journey to be with our Lord the skies were lit bright with the fireworks to light his way. He is survived by his brother, Tom, sister, Barbara, sisters-in-law, Sheila, Grace, Marylin, brothers-in-law, Fred and Chuck, nieces, Carrolyn, Lori, Sara, Carrol, Kathy, Mary Alan, Becky, Rachel, Roxanne, Janny, Vickie, Joy, great niece, Angel, nephews, Donn, Alan, Terry, Johnny, Pat, Butch, David, Mark, Jeff, Bobby, Ricky and Rusty. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, brothers, Jim, David and Leo, sisters, Mary and Diane, nephews, Todd and John and great nephew, Brandon.
