Gladys Darkow

Gladys E. Darkow was born on August 12, 1926, in Sanborn, MN the daughter of George and Bertha (Hoffman) Schultz. She attended Zion Lutheran School in Sanborn. Gladys met Theodore Darkow in Bellingham, WA and they were married on November 15, 1943 at First English Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls, MN. The couple lived at Sanborn and in 1948 they moved to Lamberton. Gladys was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn. She enjoyed tending to her roses and flower gardens, collecting baseball cards and coins, and coffee time with her sister. She was well known for her home-baked breads and donuts. Gladys died on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at the Carris Health Redwood Falls Hospital at the age of 94. She is survived by her children - Bonnie Nielsen, Robert (Pat) Darkow, Gwen (Craig) Batalden, Steve (Julie) Darkow, Barbara Jansen, James (Linda) Darkow, Daniel (Gaylene) Darkow, and Debra (John) Gode; 28 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and sisters-in-law - Lillian Schultz and Norma Schultz. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2012; sons-in-law - Harold Nielsen and John Jansen; and siblings - Melvin (Donna) Schultz, Elmer Schultz, Ervin Schultz, Eileen Radtke.
