After a courageous 3 1/2 year battle with brain cancer Fredric George Rasmussen, age 65, of Evan, MN was called home to be with his heavenly father on March 24, 2010. Freddy was born November 8, 1944 the youngest of three children born to Paul Lucille (Maurer) Rasmussen, rural Sleepy Eye. Lucille became ill shortly afterwards and unable to care for her young children, Freddy went to live with his great aunt uncle, Laura Fred Koehne in Sleepy Eye. In 1950 he returned to his rural home to attend Country School District 19. In 1962 he graduated from Sleepy Eye Public School and graduated in 1964 from Dunwoody College of Technology in Mpls. In 1965 he was drafted into the U.S. Army and was proud and honored to serve his country. Fred Jane Hilton were married at Castilian Springs, Tenn. on December 28, 1968. In 1968 they returned to Evan and opened Rasmussen Body Shop. He loved his profession, a true craftsman for his trade and deeply appreciated his many clients over the years. Freddy loved to talk, laugh, play cribbage and enjoyed many hobbies including sled dog team of Alaskan huskys, Long-horn cattle, trees, hunting, fishing, flower gardening, beekeeping and bird watching, all of which he enjoyed with children grandchildren. He is survived by wife, Jane of Evan, children, Fredric of Evan, Jacqueline (Mike) Fischer of Hanska, Susannah (Erik) Setterholm of New Ulm, Gabriel special friend Cassie of Sleepy Eye, 4 grandchildren, Josie, Jamie, Jayden Fischer Morgin Rasmussen, father, Paul Rasmussen of New Ulm, sister, Sandra Johnson of Medical Lake, WA, brothers, Mark Rasmussen of Sleepy Eye Butch (Linda) Rasmussen of Benld, IL, brother-in-law, Bill Gorman of Arcadia, CA, many Rasmussen nephews nieces and many Tennessee nephews nieces. He was preceded in death by his mother Lucille in 1950, sister, Rita Gorman in 2000, stepmothers, Oradell in 1993 Jane in 2009 and brother-in-law, Todd Johnson in 2003.
