Fred Russell Crouse was born June 25, 1916 near Wanda, MN, the son of Christian Mary (Johns) Crouse. He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Wanda and attended the Raveling School between Wabasso and Lamberton. He helped on the family farm and worked as a hired hand. On February 28, 1940 Fred was united in marriage to Lorraine Ellingson in Walnut Grove. During the couple's first year of marriage, they farmed near Lamberton and then spent the next 7 years farming near Walnut Grove. In 1950 they purchased a farm near Revere where they lived until August of 2004. They moved into Lamberton in 2004 and in February of last year they moved to Marshall, MN. Fred was a former member of the Revere Lutheran Church and served on a variety of church boards. He also served on the elevator board in Revere. Fred was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton. Fred's greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, he also enjoyed farming, raising horses and collecting horse equipment. Fred died on Friday, February 10, 2006 at the Morningside Heights Nursing Home in Marshall at the age of 89 years. He is survived by his wife - Lorraine Crouse of Marshall; daughters - Norma Jean Jeannie and her husband Henry "Butch" Polman of Marshall and Judy Elaine and her husband Jeffrey Greenwood of Marshall; grandchildren - Stacy and husband Paul Enderson, Sherry and husband Todd Quist, Scott and wife Jennifer Polman, Justin Greenwood, Jenna Greenwood, and Jacquelyn Greenwood; great grandchildren - Makenzie Enderson, Olivia Enderson; Allyson Quist, and Keaton Maertens. He is preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; and 14 brothers and sisters. Blessed be his memory.
