Eunice Mae (Epp) Wall was born on October 4, 1926 in Hampton, NE, to Isaac and Helen (Friesen) Epp. She attended country school, Dist. 3, near Hampton. She moved with her parents to Luton, IA in 1941 where she graduated from high school in 1945. She attended Grace University for one year and after that, she worked as a maid in Sioux City, IA in a private home and later, a hospital. On April 30, 1948, she was married to Willie Wall at Luton, IA. They made their home in the Mountain Lake area where they raised their 5 children. After the children left home, she worked as a nurse's assistant at the Eventide Nursing Home. Together with Willie, they cared for 2 senior ladies for 10 years in the other half of their duplex. In March of 1999, Willie and Eunice started a B and B, The 9th St. Inn. Willie passed away a couple months later. Eunice stayed and maintained the Inn for 6 years until she moved into the Laker Apartments in 2005. Eunice enjoyed hosting her many aunts and uncles that came from Nebraska and also missionaries that came to the church as guest speakers. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and even did a little custom baking. While she was living at the Laker she developed an infection in the right knee joint. She managed to stay at the apartment for another year, before moving into the Lodge, at which time her leg was amputated. Eunice continued to live there until July of 2018, when she made the transition into the Good Samaritan Village. On January 12 of this year she was diagnosed with cancer in the liver. She chose not to treat it considering her age. She entered hospice Saturday, May 21, til Friday at 5:00am, she went to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus. Eunice accepted Jesus as her Savior at a young age. She was baptized upon confession of her faith and was received into membership at the EMB Church in Henderson, NE and later transferred to the EMB (now Cornerstone) Bible Church in Mountain Lake. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie, her parents, her brother Alan, sister-in-law Gladys, a niece and one grandson. Eunice is survived by her children, Jay Berkley Wall (Janice Rono) of Amery, WI, Rochelle (Larry) Maxwell of Cotopaxi, CO, Waldean (Sheila) Wall of Eagan, Dallas (Barb) Wall of Fort Dodge, IA, and Kristine (Micah) Hopper of Mtn Lake; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
