Eldred Frederick Moll was born on April 8, 1914 in Sleepy Eye, the son of Erwin and Minnie (Lendt) Moll. He was baptized and confirmed in the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Sleepy Eye where he remained an active member. He loved spiritual music. In his early years, he sang in the church choir and a men's quartet. He attended and graduated from the Sleepy Eye Public School in 1932. Eldred married Elva Bellig on September 7, 1939. They were pioneers in the turkey business when they started the Moll Turkey Hatchery with Eldred's mother, Minnie, in 1936. Eldred's pastimes included hunting, fishing, traveling, and many family activities. During the winter months, Eldred and Elva enjoyed vacationing in Arizona. Eldred touched many lives with his warmth and love, he had a generous spirit, and an easy smile. Eldred's special passion was his cabin at Lake Koronis, where he and Elva brought their family together. Close family bonds were nurtured with fun and laughter at the cabin on many summer weekends.
