Edythe Etter

Edythe Etter, the daughter of Walter and Harriet (Riggs) Thompson was born on April 7, 1914, in rural Lake Crystal, MN. Edythe graduated from the Madelia High School. She was united in marriage to Clem Etter on November 29, 1934 in Madelia. They made their home in Madelia. In her early years Edythe owned a dress shop. Edythe helped her husband with the hotel, cafe and grocery store that they owned. Edythe was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church in Madelia. She enjoyed dancing with her husband, playing bridge, and cooking. Edythe had a love for baking, she always made Jim chocolate chip cookies when he came to visit her. She was a sports fan, she especially liked the Twins. Edythe spent many years wintering in Mesa AZ. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Edythe is survived by sons, Bill (Doneta) of Mesa AZ, Bob (Carol) of Madelia, Jim (Jan) of Plymouth, John (Pat) of Burnsville; daughter, Pam (Randy) Thomas of Madelia; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; niece, Terri and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents; loving husband Clem; 2 grandchildren; 1 sister and 3 brothers.
