Edward Joseph Lammers was born in Fulda, Minnesota, on August 17, 1927, the son of Joseph and Franceska Lammers. He grew up on the family farm near Fulda where he help his folks farm. In 1973, Ed moved to a small farmstead north of Butterfield. He moved there with his collection of antique farm tractors. Collecting and restoring old tractors was his life's enjoyment. For many years, he displayed his antique tractors at the Butterfield Steam and Gas Engine show. Another hobby was building wooden replicas of antique tractors; they are now on display in the Watonwan County Museum in Madelia, MN. In December 2010, his farmstead home burned down and he resided in Butterfield until he fell in May 2013. He then lived at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James until his death. Ed is preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law; Ilyene and Michael Pratka.
