Funeral services for Edna Mielke will be 11:00AM, Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at Grace Lutheran Church in Ormsby with Rev. Vance Becker officiating. Burial will be at the Westbrook City Cemetery. Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James on Tuesday from 5:00PM until 7:00PM and at the church one hour before the services on Wednesday. Edna Mielke passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at the Pipestone Good Samaritan Center in Pipestone at the age of 92 years. Edna Grace Lamaack was born on May 16, 1915 in Cottonwood County to parents Henry and Fern (Sellman) Lamaack. On April 21, 1935 she was united in marriage to George Mielke at Avoca, MN. The couple made there home at Milan, Courtland, Ormsby and Stordan. Following George's death in 1968 Edna moved back to Ormsby. She later moved to St. James, Mankato and to Pipestone where she resided at the time of her death. Edna was very active in her church she was involved in ladies aide and Bible study. She also belonged to the community birthday club and quilting group. She took great pride in her flowers, both inside and outside, she loved to tend her garden. She also enjoyed her birds and watching them through her picture window. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Rodney, sisters Mollie Magnus, Pansy Gillenwater, brothers Albert Lamaack and Roy Lamaack. Greatful for sharing her life are her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Rick Walberg of Jasper, sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Betty Mielke of North Mankato, Ronald and Pat Mielke of Chanhassen, sister Viola Baartz of Albert Lea, daughter-in-law, Inez Mielke of Elk River, 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
