Earl Dexheimer

November 25, 1918 — February 13, 2015

Earl Victor Dexheimer, son of Oscar and Selma (Abel) Dexheimer was born in St. James, MN on November 25, 1918. He attended District 8 Country School. In 1938 he married Evelyn Christenson. They had one son, Charles. Evelyn died in 1943. On August 23, 1950, Earl was married to Leota Scholl who had two daughters, Sharon and Diane. Earl and Leota farmed in South Branch Township for 23 years. During this time, two more children were born, Lloyd and Mary. The family moved to rural St. James where Earl farmed in Long Lake Township until he and Leota retired in 1986. They stayed living on the farm until 1994 when they moved into St. James. Earl was on the Long Lake Township Board for 9 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and most of all mowing the lawn with his riding lawnmower. He also loved the past time of visiting with family and friends. Earl is survived by his 2 sons, Charles and his wife, Mary of Kansas City MO, and Lloyd of St. James, and Sharon from Madison Lake, MN; Three daughters, Sharon and Alan Madsen of Maple Grove, MN; Diane and Brad Butzlaff of Yankton, SD, and Mary and Dick Rinne of St. James; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Earl was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Evelyn, and second wife Leota, along with numerous aunts and uncles.
