Doris Nelson

Doris Nelso, age 85, of St. James died on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James. Glendoris Marie Lunz was born February 4, 1926, on the family farm in Watonwan County, Minnesota, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Blaha) Lunz. She grew up in the St. James area where she attended school. On May 30, 1943 she married Jay Johnson they later divorced. She later married and divorced Lester Nelson. Doris was a hard worker she worked at Toro, Westin, Pamida and Paul's Food Pride. Doris was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters, the VFW Auxiliary, and did volunteer work at the Parish Center and the thrift shop in town. She loved her dogs and cats, enjoyed crocheting, tending her garden and flowers. Doris enjoyed her morning and afternoon coffee. She is survived by her son, Dale (B.J.) Johnson of St. James, daughter, Pat (John) Jensen of St. James, daughter-in-law, Rosie Johnson of St. James, 6 grandchildren, 13, great-grandchildren, sister, Delores (Marvin) Lang of St. James, many nieces, nephews, and special friend Cindy Mace. She is preceded in death by her son, Larry Johnson, parents, Frank and Elizabeth Lunz, brother, Elmer Lunz, sister, Lucitle Spitzner and two ex-husbands, Jay Johnson and Les Nelson.
