Donavon Anderson

Donavon Lyle Anderson was born on November 30, 1949 to John and Gladys (Hetland) Anderson in Springfield, MN. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1967 and then from Willmar VoTech. On January 14, 1975, Donny was united in marriage to Michelle Wendt at St. John Lutheran Church in Springfield. Donny returned to the family farm where he farmed until 2002. He also worked as a mechanic for Rick's Firestone, and then River Region Coop. In 2005 he opened Don's Tire and Repair. Donny served in the National Guard, was a member of the American Legion, and St. John Lutheran Church. He enjoyed time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His favorite things were camping, bonfires, farming, playing cards, western movies, shaking dice and enjoying coffee with his patrons at the shop. Donny was always there to lend a helping hand. He is survived by his wife Michelle Anderson of Springfield; children - Sara (Kevin) Lee and their son Jacob of Franklin, Joe (Jennie) Anderson and their children Blaine, Brady, Donavon Joseph (DJ) and McKenzie of Springfield, Robert (Emily) Anderson and their children Brooklyn and Cash of Springfield; brothers - John K. (Ardella) Anderson of Belview, Lloyd (Ruth) Anderson of Echo, Ken (Carol) Anderson of Redwood Falls; sisters - Lois Pelowski of California, Charlotte (Duncan) Gardiner of England. Donny was preceded in death by his parents; sisters - Doris (Wes) Dahn, Judy (Lynn) Nielsen; brother-in-law Bob Pelowski.
