Donald Fester, age 74 of rural Revere, died in Scottsdale, AZ on January 19, 2014, due to a heart attack related to his pulmonary disease. Don was born May 26, 1939, in Cottonwood County to Alfred and Wilhelmina 'Minnie' (Kronback) Fester. He attended school in both Revere and Lamberton, and was a 1957 graduate of Lamberton High School. Driven by his passion for farming, Don took over the family farm after high school graduation in the spring of 1957 and continued farming until 2012. He took great pride in his work. His special interests included bowling, softball, snowmobiling, fishing, and gardening. He always enjoyed the family gatherings and community events. He spent the past 10 winters in Arizona for health reasons and warm weather. Don was baptized and confirmed in the Highwater Lutheran Church where he remained a life-long member. He is survived by sister Gloria and husband Tom Liesch of Plymouth, MN; three nieces- Jacqueline Lentz of Lakeville, Jane (Bryan) Soderberg of Eden Prairie, and Julie (Don) Phillips of Edina; six great-nieces- Justine and Jillian Lentz, Abby and Anna Soderberg, Madelyn and Meghan Phillips; great-nephew Clayton Phillips; and many cousins. Don was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Alfred, Jr.
