David Pfarr

David Abraham 'Duffy' Pfarr was born May 9, 1926, in Redwood County, the son of Julius and Helena (Gadde) Pfarr. David was the youngest of seventeen children: William Pfarr, Adolph Pfarr, Julius Pfarr, Carl Pfarr, Daniel Pfarr, Martin Pfarr, Ella Pfarr, Mary Matter, Martha Matter, Elizabeth Pfarr, Alma Geer, Lena Ayres, Viola Pfarr, Ida Pfarr, Florence Miller, and Rose Pfarr. He attended school in Lamberton and served in the U.S. Army from 1945-1946 where he was stationed in Germany. Upon returning home from the service, he farmed in the Lamberton area until his death. He enjoyed farming with horses, thrashing, and raising cattle, hogs, and sheep. Duffy also enjoyed conversing in German with his sister Elizabeth and brother Adolph on the home farm. David 'Duffy' Pfarr died Saturday, June 6, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester at the age of 83 years. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Adele, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, and 10 sisters.
