Daryl Mohlenbrock

Daryl Eugene Mohlenbrock, the son of Henry and Joan (Lade) Mohlenbrock was born on December 7, 1956 in Mountain Lake, MN. He was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Alpha, MN and later confirmed in his Faith at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake, where he remained a faithful member. Daryl received his education at Mountain Lake Public Schools and graduated in 1975 from the Mountain Lake High School. On August 8, 1984, Daryl was united in marriage to Michele Ann Krahn at the First Presbyterian Church in Mountain Lake. They made their home south of Mountain Lake on Daryl's family farm which he operated till the time of his death. He began his electrical career with Kliewer Electric and Laker Electric before joining the City of Mountain Lake and eventually becoming the Electrical Superintendent. He enjoyed his job and providing quality service to area residents, and he took joy and pride in the many new initiatives including Mountain Lake's wind turbine, solar project and conservation projects. He enjoyed deer and pheasant hunting, fishing, being outdoors with his dog, camping and visiting resorts, and watching sports - especially the Minnesota Vikings. Daryl died suddenly at the Windom Area Hospital on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at the age of 53 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Mohlenbrock; his parents-in-law, Walt and Donna Krahn; and his grandparents. Daryl is survived by his wife, Michele Mohlenbrock of Mountain Lake; his daughter, Jessica Lynn Mohlenbrock (special friend, Matt Shupe) of Brooklyn Park, MN; his mother Joan Mohlenbrock Hanson of Northrop, MN; sisters, Debra (Daryl) Miller of Welcome, MN, Gail (Claude) Rasche of CO and Corinne (Rick) Firme of New Richland, MN; brother, Darwin (Kendra) Mohlenbrock of St. Peter, MN; sisters and brothers-in-law; aunts and uncles; other relatives and friends.
