Charles Allan Lehman was born on May 29,1947 to Quentin and Vera (Basinger) Lehman in Mountain Lake, MN. He had one sister, Pauline and a brother, Roger. He was raised in the Mennonite faith and attended Bethel Mennonite Church where he was baptized. Moe was currently a member of the American Lutheran Church, Windom. Moe attended Mountain Lake Public School and graduated in 1965. His first year of college was at Bethel College in North Newton, KS where he also played football. He returned to Mountain Lake to work and soon after was drafted during the Vietnam War and entered the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged October 1969 and upon his return, Moe worked for Glen Harder at the turkey farm south of Mountain Lake for several years with his long-time friend, George Hiebert. He returned to college in 1972 and attended SDSU in Brookings, SD where he received his Masters Degree in 1976. He then returned to Mountain Lake and worked with his brother, Roger at Lehman Rexall Drug. After Rogers sudden passing in 1978, Moe continued working in the pharmacy until the business was sold to Vern and Cheryl Peterson in 1983. Following the sale of the business, Moe worked as a relief pharmacist for many years in stores throughout southern Minnesota. In 1995 Moe gained an instant family of 2 sons and 2 daughters when he and Carol (Klingsporn) Klassen were married on October 14 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake. In 1997 Moe and Carol purchased Schneider Drug in Comfrey, MN from James and Vonne Schneider. Moe owned and operated the Comfrey store until its closing in December 2010. Moe thoroughly enjoyed his semi-retirement. He continued working part-time as needed at Peterson Drug and had time to golf a lot with his golf buddies in both Mountain Lake and Windom. Moe was a great storyteller and he had a lot of tales to share about the Basinger Hotel on 10th Street where his dad was the hotel manager and his uncles home, the Basinger mansion which was on 3rd Avenue until 1970, as well as many entertaining Pete Falk and Parr Brothers stories. Moe was an avid hobbyist and early in life, developed a passion for the great outdoors. He became a life-long hunter and fisherman and had many adventures throughout his life with all his great friends. He loved Grand Marais and spending time at the Wenberg cabin. He also enjoyed building and flying RC model airplanes, gardening, especially straw bale gardening, cooking, Montana river floats and fly fishing, trips to Detroit Lakes, singing, and Maverick Hockey and he made it to nearly every home game for 20+ years. He was active in Ducks Unlimited for many years as well as the National Wild Turkey Federation. What Moe cherished most was time spent with the family he dearly loved and connecting and bonding with each grandchild and also the many road trips with Carol, especially to Montana.
