Cecelia Dick

January 11, 1915 — June 23, 2015

CeCelia Magdalena (Beckman) Dick was born on January 11, 1915 at Freeman, SD to Herman and Augusta (Stunkart) Beckman. She received her education in the Marion, SD community and later attended Tabor College in Hillsboro, KS. Being an efficient cook, she used her abilities to cook at the Bible Academy at Lustre, MT, Pacific College in Fresno, CA and also at Hume Lake Christian Conference Center near Fresno. While living with and helping in the home of Mr. & Mrs. A. A. Dick in Mt. Lake, she caught the eye of Henry L. Dick, and they were married on November 28, 1964 at the Mennonite Brethren Church (now Community Bible) in Mt. Lake, MN. Together they farmed on the Dick family farm until 1982 when they moved into Mt. Lake. Cecelia was an avid entertainer, enjoyed her many friends and her involvement in church with Awana children, as well as relief work, which included making quilts for the needy. Soon after her husband passed away she was diagnosed with Parkinsons, and entered Good Samaritan Village on July 31, 1998. Even there, she showed her love and concern for others by visiting other residents, wheeling them to the dining room, and making staff aware of their needs. She got her wish to go be with the Lord on June 23, 2015. Memorials are preferred for M. B. Missions. She is survived by her sisters-in-law Lena Dick and Annette Dick. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings Erna (Lewis) Ewert, Herb (June) Beckman, Arnold (Wilma) Beckman, Leone (Dick) VanSchyndel, Gary (Esther) (Betty) Beckman, Linda (Bill) VanSchyndel and Helen (Milton) Boese and in-laws Jacob L. Dick, Tina Dick, Leonard & Rosie Dick, Dietrich & Rosella Dick, Emma Dick, David M. & Minnie Ewert, and Emil Dick. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
